Ranger & Young Leader Sub Camp & Programme
The Ranger and Young Leader subcamp is for members aged 14-18, who will get the opportunity to experience all the fun activities Unity is famous for, whilst gaining independence camping with friends and peers.
A full week of activities is being designed and chosen specifically for the Ranger/YL age group, where they will get to enjoy as a separate subcamp to the Guides, challenging them to have adventures, get creative and try something new. Unlike the Guides, the Ranger/YL Subcamp will also get to take part in a fun Community Service Project. This will be similar to the Service Team’s projects, where they have previously revitalised School Playgrounds, Care Home Gardens and Dog Trust premises.
Alongside the camp’s main evening entertainment, there will also be a variety of evening activities and chill out sessions arranged especially for the Ranger/YL subcamp.
They will get the chance to camp independently with their friends and other Rangers and Young Leaders from around the County and beyond. For meals, they will have the option to enjoy centrally catered food or join up with their local Guide units for meals on their subcamp. Whilst they will be given the freedom to camp away from their Unit Leaders, there will always be support from the Ranger/YL Subcamp Team.
They will get to have loads of fun enjoying lots of activities, learning new skills, gaining independence, meeting new people and making new friends!
The participation fee includes for site fees, all activities, evening entertainment, t-shirt, necker, main camp badge, lanyard. This does not include any catering or transportation to/from the event. Rangers and Young Leaders attending will need to provide their own tents. In regards to catering, we recommend that Rangers and Young Leaders are catered for with their local guide groups where possible due to group catering not being available. Those who do not have a local guide unit attending who can provide catering, provision will be made at an additional cost of £100 per person.
